| The Xiox Call Storage Buffer frees the PC from call accounting and allows the computer to perform other business functions. Located between the PBX and the PC, the Xiox Buffer provides a temporary storage location for calls as they are completed from the PBX before they are processed. The buffer stores from 1,500 to 22,000 call records depending on the model size, the length of the PBX call record, and the use of account codes. Multiple buffers can be used for collection in case call volumes are high. A panel of lights on the front of the buffer indicate the status of call storage and transmission of data from the PBX. An audible buffer alarm feature is included which begins sounding when the buffer is 90% full. The buffer utilizes Lithium battery backed CMOS RAM to eliminate the risk of data loss in the event of a power failure. The buffer automatically sends call records to the Xiox Software when the user enters the Call Processing Module. At this time, the calls are instantly priced based on a combination of the rate tables and the call processing rules. The processed call records are stored and used for reporting. The buffer automatically resumes call collection when the user exits from the call processing module, presses the buffer pause button, is using another program, or turns off the computer. |
